What is leadership? In my opinion, the following Black Male and/or Female Leaders have without question displayed game-changing leadership for the black community, both domestically and worldwide, while achieving their personal dreams in life. Each leader on this list has a unique story to tell, and each story is different. But, within each story, you see one recurring common denominator, a common thread that seems to repeat itself over and over. I call it “the stuff that dreams are made of” a line taken from the play, The Tempest, by the great playwright William Shakespeare.

My point being, whatever this common denominator is, it seems to inspire the soul to never give up. They never gave up on their goals in life, they never gave up on their dreams, and I think the 44 th President of the United States said it best; “The future rewards those who press on. I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I’m going to press on.”

— U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama II.

I now present to you my list of leaders who, in my opinion, have inspired millions of black people to pursue their dreams, and of course, as you can imagine, there are hundreds more who could be added to this list, including your father and mother, your sister or brother, or your mentor and/or friend. But alas, and by necessity, I am limited in scope.
